In 1981, a film was unleashed to the public showcasing the fury and intensity of endurance racing....
Well, either that or a whole lot of people just couldn't get their fill of Burt Reynolds, his killer
'stache, and his propensity for pissing off "the man." The movie was "The Cannonball Run" and America
hasn't been the same since. With flashy characters, fast cars, and crazy themes, each part of this film
epitomizes part of the fun of the 24 Hours of LeMons
(minus the fast cars...). In the spirit of the film, and in memory of the late, great Dom Deluise and
Farrah Fawcett, the Cannonball Bandits have put together a car that mimics the Dodge Tradesman van
ambulance that Burt Reynolds drives across the country.
Our driving team will include all the classic characters: Colby Waltenburg as J.J. McClure,
Craig Aznoe as Victor Prinzim (and... HIM), Darren Rogers as
Seymour Goldfarb, Jr., Brantan Jahner as Jamie Blake, Sam Huckaby as
Morris Fenderbaum, and Tim Boyd as The Sheik.
Partnering with Doctors Giving Back, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to providing medical clinical care to small villages in Ethiopia, The Cannonball Bandits will be
raising money on a per lap basis that will be funding this organization's operations. 100% of all donations will
be given to Doctors Giving Back.
With amateur racing at its finest on full display, the Cannonball Bandits are ready to give the
24 Hours of LeMons a great show come this November at Thunderhill Raceway!
